CASUAL ITALIAN BUFFET

1. Start by setting the table with festive linens and décor. For an Italian-style buffet, consider using white and red tablecloths or runners, wine bottles as candleholders, and olive branches or Italian-themed decorations.
2. Plan your menu. Start with a selection of olives, roasted vegetables and cured meats such as prosciutto and salami. Create a selection of bruschetta and crostini with toppings such as fresh tomatoes, basil pesto, and ricotta cheese. For heartier fare, consider making a lasagna or other baked pasta dish, as well as a selection of pizzas. Add in some antipasto platters with olives, artichokes, and marinated vegetables.
3. Set up an area with a variety of Italian wines and beers. Include both red and white wines, as well as a variety of sparkling wines and Prosecco.
4. Prepare a selection of desserts. Tiramisu is always a favorite, as well as Italian-style gelato and sorbet. Consider creating cannoli with a variety of fillings and a selection of biscotti cookies.
5. Finish off the buffet with coffee and tea. Include a selection of Italian-style coffees, such as espresso and cappuccino, as well as herbal teas.
